Wouldn’t change a thing! The Hall itself and the grounds were gorgeous; we loved the ceilings the fireplace and gardens! All the Mains Hall staff were so friendly and professional and made the organisation very easy for us, and it is nice to hear so many positive comments from people who have attended weddings there. We had the wedding of our dreams – a great big thank you!!

We really just loved the look and feel of the venue, I could instantly imagine our wedding there. We were impressed that the venue was such a large and accommodating space, yet it still felt warm and full of character – and the gardens were kept immaculate! The Great Hall is a beautiful venue that is truly romantic! The Great Hall staff were very informative and friendly and we really felt prepared for our big day – all the staff where so helpful in ensuring it all ran smoothly and left us feeling stress free after every meeting. Thank you for making our Wedding Day wonderful we had a brilliant day and I can’t stress enough how helpful and friendly I found The Great Hall staff – Thank you!!

One of our friends had their reception at this venue and we liked the exclusivity. When we came to look round The Great Hall, the grounds and the staff were so welcoming and helpful which really impressed us and this made our decision to book all the more easier. Our wedding organisation leading up to and on the actual day was fantastic, we really could not fault it at all, it was brilliant. The whole day really did live up to our expectations; it was the prefect magical day. Our caterer was ‘With a Twist’, the food was beautiful and the service was good. All the staff at the hall on not only the day but also leading up to our special day were great. We would like to say a big thanks to Lizzie our Events Manager…She was fantastic. We would recommend the Great hall to everyone, really could not have wished for anything better. A Huge thanks again to everyone at ‘The Great Hall at Mains’. Nicola & Mike

We came across The Great Hall on the internet and when we looked around we thought it was beautiful, clean, secure, with a good sized car park and nice toilets- the latter are of high importance. We chose The Great Hall because it is local and the staff and venue easily accommodated our needs. Our expectations were exceeded and the organisation leading up to and on the actual day was excellent. I would give The Great Hall 100 out of 10! We used ‘Twelve’ as our chosen caterers and I must say that the owner Caroline is probably the most competent and professional caterer I have ever met. The bar service was great and they even ordered in extra crisps for my guests. The only thing I would say is could you please arrange for time to go more slowly, I didn’t want the evening to end!

We chose The Great Hall because it really has the ‘wow factor’, especially when it is set up for a Civil Ceremony. The venue is excellent and the grounds are beautiful. We liked the fact that it was not too far away for us and the packages offered suited us perfectly. The girls were very helpful and offered advice and help in the organisation. They were also happy to make any changes I asked for, without hesitation. The Great Hall exceeded out expectations and we can happily say that looking back, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. As we have been to Twelve Restaurant before and loved the food, we decided to choose Twelve. We also liked that they were local to The Great Hall and close to where we live. Twelve were just amazing; the meal was outstanding and the evening barbeque was a great hit with everyone. Service was five star and we would highly recommend them. The bar service was excellent. I would definitely recommend The Great Hall at Mains because the service is excellent and the venue is pretty- a lovely change to the hotels that all look the same. Thank you to you all for such a lovely day and I will come in and see you all soon.

We saw the sign for the open day and after looking at countless other venues, we came to look at The Great Hall, once we entered the building, Sarah’s eyes filled up with tears and we knew it was the venue for her. We were impressed with the gardens they were beautiful, the log fire, with the candlelight flickering; it really did look like the perfect romantic setting for our fairy tale wedding. The friendly staff that even before they had our booking couldn’t be more helpful, finding us information and guiding us with our perfect day. The fact that the venue was exclusive to our wedding party and no others would be intruding on our special day. The service was always exceptional, any slight query or advice was always answered straight away. We knew it would be lovely but I can honestly say everything was perfect. Nothing was overlooked, left to chance or missed. ‘With a Twist’ did an excellent job with the food, everyone was delighted with their meal was presentable and the beef was to die for. The bar service was very good; none of the guests had a problem with being served drinks, especially for the guests that requested certain wines or particular non-alcoholic beverages. We have already recommended The Great Hall; all of our guests were amazed by facilities the exceptional staff and ours was the best wedding they have ever been to. What a compliment for us and all the staff at TGH. You are a great team and this really shows when the special day arrives, it was a pleasure to plan our wedding with you all and our day was more than perfect.
